On 14 August 2010, The Reading Scottish Pipe Band entered their first ever World Pipe Band Championships.  15 pipers, 8 side drummers, 2 tenor drummers and a bass drummer all made the trip to Glasgow, along with other band members and family and friends for support.  The event was held on Glasgow Green and involved 239 bands, 8,000 pipers and drummers, and with over 53,000 spectators it was the largest ever World Championships.

The band were placed a creditable 16th in the Grade 4B heat 1 out of 20 entrants, and the whole day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
