2025 Competition Season

The competition season concluded on Sun 31 August up at the amazing venue in the shadow of Chatsworth House with the band finishing 5th in the G4 Marches, 3rd in the G4 MSR and 3rd in the G3 Medley. With very strong competition from G4B City of Plymouth, two G4A bands, Laidlaw Memorial and RATAE, and G3B City Of Manchester, plus many other excellent G4B bands, this was a great result to end the season.

The band also had our best ever result at the World Championships two weeks before.

The competition band played this year in the following competitions:

  • 27 Apr – Indoor mini-bands, Gordon’s School
  • 18 May – Jim McGinn memorial – Indoor full-bands, Luton
  • 15 June – Pipes in the Park, Colchester
  • 13 July – Corby Highland Gathering
  • 16 Aug – World Championships, Glasgow
  • 31 Aug – All England, Chatsworth

Preparation has already started for the competition season in 2026 and we are welcoming some new players to the ranks who want the chance to compete next year.

If you are interested in joining our competition band and have piping or drumming experience, please do get in touch.
