On 12 August 2012, Reading Scottish played in perhaps their biggest ever engagement – at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in London.

On 1 August 2012, Reading Scottish played as part of the Highland Gathering at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight.
On 11 July 2012, Reading Scottish were playing to set the Olympic Torch off on its journey from Reading in Caversham Court Gardens.
On 17 June 2012, Reading Scottish recorded music for the Olympic Closing Ceremony to be held on 12 August 2012.
